Targeted Messaging

Centralize your job communications and bring the right people and information together through the use of targeted messaging. Engage in conversations with internal users, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors to create a virtual “paper trail.”

Targeting Messages

An “@ mention” allows you to target a comment to specific users or roles. While internal users who have access to a job will be able to see all comments within the job, the @ mention will also send an email notification to the people mentioned directly.

External users, including customers and vendors, will not see any comments in the job unless they are invited to the discussion thread using an @ mention. Once added, they will be able to view or reply to the entire conversation thread in their portal.

Using @ Mentions

As you're writing a message, enter the @ symbol then enter a role, a user’s name, or select one from the list of people who have access to the job, document, or task. After selecting the person or role you would like to notify, they will be listed above the comment box. Repeat this step for every person you’d like to mention in your message. Remove users or roles from the comment by clicking the “X” next to the name or role.

Write your message after adding your mentions and then click the purple Send button. Each person mentioned in the feed will receive an email notification. By default, internal users who have access to the job will also be notified of all comments made on the feed, documents, or tasks within the job.

Mention Examples:

  • Mentioning @All will include all internal and external users who are associated with the job, document, or task. In this case, vendors and customers will be invited to the conversation thread as well.
  • Mention @customers or @vendors for customers or vendors directly associated with the job, document, or task to view or reply to the conversation thread and in their portal.
  • Target internal users by @ mentioning their role, such as @sitesupervisor, @projectmanager, or @fieldworker and those who have access to the job, document, or task will receive an email notification.
